Recruiting via sidewalk sandwich board

January 15th, 2014

Seriously?

(Spotted on 2nd Street)

Are sandwich boards a good way to hire software engineers and high-level managers? Now to be fair, Craigslist isn’t the perfect way to hire people. But this feels a little informal.

Still, it’s fancier than a vinyl banner or a piece of cardboard stapled to a telephone pole. So there’s that.

Jack Lives Here

December 16th, 2009

Ozone Thai recently replaced Gavin Newsom’s Jack Falstaff restaurant on 2nd Street.

Today when I was walking by, I couldn’t help but to notice this sign outside:

Jack Lives Here

How ironic!

Ozone Thai on 2nd Street?

October 2nd, 2009

I was walking in South Beach today when I noticed this sign posted in the ol’ Jack Falstaff space:

Spotted in the old Jack Falstaff space

You might recall Jack Falstaff was one of Gavin “Hair” Newsom’s failed enterprises. Now it’s transitioning to be a Thai restaurant, seemingly a new location for Ozone Thai.
