As it turns out the Mansion Flats neighborhood is filled with buildings of similar age and architecture, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Governor%27s_Mansion_State_Historic_Park\">California Governor&#8217;s Mansion.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the mansion was converted into a museum in the mid 1960&#8217;s it was recently closed and renovated to bring it up to modern building codes. Jerry Brown moved in it during his final term as governor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s unclear what the future of the building will be; current governor Gavin Newsom decided not to move in. It&#8217;s currently closed to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the end I&#8217;m not sure exactly what the point of having an official governor&#8217;s mansion is if governors generally don&#8217;t want to live in it.
