Aside from a few ducks treading water, you might not even notice there&#8217;s water. It looks like a slime pit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what <i>is<\/i> that slime? According to the Chronicle, <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.sfgate.com\/2010-07-18\/bay-area\/21988267_1_lily-pond-golden-gate-park-weed\">it&#8217;s an infestation of duckweed<\/a> that took over the pond in 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Duckweed, as it turns out, is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mobot.org\/jwcross\/duckweed\/duckweed.htm\">smallest flowering plant<\/a>. Duckweed grows rapidly!
