This evening they happened to be leashed on Valencia outside Stage Werks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone who&#8217;s lived in San Francisco for a while knows the story behind the doggie heads; they were the mascot of a local fast food chain called the Doggie Diner. After the chain went out of business in the 80&#8217;s the heads seem to have ended up various places. For example one of them is mounted on a pole <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=sloat+and+45th&amp;hl=en&amp;ll=37.735044,-122.502033&amp;spn=0.007305,0.014516&amp;sll=37.7577,-122.4376&amp;sspn=0.233704,0.464516&amp;t=m&amp;layer=c&amp;cbll=37.735556,-122.502783&amp;panoid=uLH-W-gGFn0GT1MUTv3pKg&amp;cbp=12,240.45,,0,3.79&amp;hnear=Sloat+Blvd+%26+45th+Ave,+San+Francisco,+California+94132&amp;z=17\">in the median of Sloat at 45th Ave.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You never know when or where the doggie head trailer will appear. It&#8217;s kind of like Frank Chu, except that Frank Chu&#8217;s signs tend to make more sense than the concept of eating food that was cooked by a dog. Yuck.
